{L’Oreal offering writers and the public the star treatment}
When Toronto’s Luminato festival team with a leading beauty provider, I couldn’t help but get excited for what was in store. Surely enough there were beautifying pop-up booths in place to showcase new products from L’Oreal Paris and Maybelline New York.

Official makeup artist and hair stylist, Eddie Malter and Eric Del Monaco, were kind enough to offer me their star treatment showcasing L’oreal’s newest products. Featuring a new BB cream (with a sensational and radiant finish), a gel eyeliner, new lipsticks and an incredible new mascara, I couldn’t wait to try these out.
Eddie’s makeup look for me was subtle and classic, Hollywood glamour. With a neutral lip and gently shaded, “caramel” eyelids. The focus was on the ‘glow’ of skin.
“When I do a natural look I like to create a little line of eyeliner and smudge the line like shadow, It gives the impression of having fuller lashes,” says Eddie.
The handsome makeup artist is a huge fan of BB creams for this season and I can see why. The finish is flawless.
“For summer I think BB creams are amazing. It makes your skin beautiful and has a light finish. It gives just enough correction,” he says. L’Oreal’s first Youth Code BB cream ($23.99) is set for release in July. Containing Micro Pearls and Light Boost technology, it’s no wonder your skin is left radiant.
For hair, the talented Eric Del Monaco created something totally new for me. An elaborate twisted up-do. I adored having my hair up in this hot weather, it felt as though I’d cut it all cut off — with less of the pain! Using the famous Elnett hairspray, my style stayed together throughout the day, even with the humidity!
My favourite products for this look are the new Lumi Colour Match Foundation ($18.99) – for luminous skin, the new Colour Riche Lipstick in 176: Sunset Angora ($12.99), makes lips super soft with a tint of coral. The new Voluminous Power Collagen ($11.99) is perfect for thicker and fuller lashes without clumpy them together.
